7 CFR § 272.4(e) & 7 CFR § 273.2(i) and (3)(v) & 7 CFR § 273.14(f)


Expedited service allows eligible CGs to quickly receive an initial benefit with fewer required verifications.  All SNAP requirements must be completed before providing future months’ benefits.


Expedited service applies for the month of application only.  

Exception:  Combined benefits for the month of application and the next month are issued, if eligible, when the EDG applies after the 15th of the month.


EDGs are not eligible for expedited service at renewal when they reapply before the end of the current benefit period.


EDGs are not eligible for expedited service if they received SNAP benefits in another CG or another state in the current month.  Follow processing timeframes to issue benefits for the 2nd month, if eligible.   

Exception: EDGs in shelters for battered individuals can receive benefits in the same month, even if they received SNAP benefits in another CG or another state in the current month.
