7 CFR § 272.1(g) & 7 CFR § 273.2(j)(1)(iv) and (k)(1)(i)(F) and (iii)(E) & 7 CFR § 273.17(a)(1)-(3) & 7 CFR 273.18(h)

Restore benefits due to an underpayment that occurred during an approved timeframe for any of the following reasons:

• Agency error
• Changes in State or Federal regulations or laws
• Denied EDG becomes categorically eligible
• Fair hearing decision
• Judicial action
• Reversed IPV determination
• SSA error

Restore underpayments even if the EDG is not currently eligible. 

The EDG is not required to request issuance of the underpayment.
