  • Commissions
  • Payments for services
  • Salaries
  • Tips
  • Wages

EDD - Eligibility Determination Document


EDG Misfortune - An event beyond the EDG’s control resulting in the loss of food purchased with SNAP benefits. 

Examples:

  • Flood
  • Fire
  • Hurricane
  • Power outage of at least 4 hours


Elderly - Individuals 60 years of age or older at the end of the month for which benefits are being determined.


Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) - Benefits stored online in a database or offline on a card. Benefits are accessed using plastic cards to purchase allowable items at an authorized point of sale (POS).


Electronic Disqualified Recipient System (eDRS) - The electronic disqualified recipient system (EDRS) is a nationwide database of persons disqualified for an intentional program violation.


Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) - Groups of individuals in a case who are included when determining eligibility and benefits for each requested program.


Employment and Training Program (E&T) - The SNAP Employment and Training Program (E&T) helps recipients obtain employment by providing opportunities to improve their ability to obtain regular employment and reduce their reliance on SNAP benefits by gaining work:

  • experience,
  • skills, or
  • training.

The E&T program is voluntary in Connecticut. SNAP recipients, not receiving TFA, who are able to work upon completion of an E&T component, may volunteer to participate in SNAP E&T.


Equity Value - The fair market value of an asset minus:

  • any money owed on the asset, and
  • the cost to sell or transfer the asset.


Excluded Income - Income that is not counted in determining eligibility and benefit levels.


Expunged Benefits - SNAP benefits that have not been used by the EDG in 365 days. Expunged benefits are returned to the Federal SNAP program and cannot be returned to the EDG.
