Approval Notices

7 CFR § 273.10(g)(1)(i)(A)-(C)

Provide a W-0001N, Notice of Action, when the CG is determined eligible for benefits.  

Provide the following information in the approval notice: 

• benefit amount,
• benefit level changes at approval,
• benefit period,
• combined benefit amounts when appropriate,
• contact name and number for questions, 
• fair hearing rights, 
• legal services availability,
• other information deemed necessary, and
• requirement to reapply at the end of the benefit period.

Denial Notices

7 CFR § 273.10(g)(1)(ii)

Provide a W-0001N, Notice of Action, when the EDG is determined ineligible for benefits.

Provide the following information in the denial notice: 

• the reason for the denial, 
• their right to a fair hearing, 
• their right to reapply,
• contact information for questions, and
• the actions the EDG must take to reactivate the application within 30 days of the notice date when denied for not completing required actions.  

       Note:  A new application is required if: 

• the application is not reactivated within 30 days of the notice date, or 
• when denied as SNAP ineligible.
